1) Please tell us who you are and what you do for those not familiar with you?
I am a vibrant 29 year old who was born and raised on the island of St. Martin. I enjoy the arts (visual, written and performing), traveling, spending time with loved ones and learning about other’s experiences. I am a social worker, a published poet, an aspiring competent communicator and I recently joined a women’s soccer team.
2) What 3 words best describe you as a person?
Ambitious, charismatic and courageous.

3) Describe your Fashion sense?
Seeing that I’m a free spirit, I waver between various fashions senses. I have my seasons where my sense of style is more of a bold, eclectic and daring look and other times where I tone it down to more of a classically fun, sophisticated, charming and sexy sense of style. I love playing with different looks!
4) What made you decide to compete in Ms. Mature Carnival Pageant 2014?
I decided to compete in the Ms. Mature Pageant because it has always been on my bucket list to enter a pageant. Besides the constant encouragement that I received from my friends and family, every little girl dreams of one day being a beauty queen (whether she fulfills the dream or not). I believe in fulfilling your life’s dreams no matter how dated. Seeing that the pageant allows women 26 and older to enter, I decided to do so. So in a nutshell, I’m fulfilling one of my childhood dreams….
5) Do you think you will win if yes/no why?
Well I am up against some tough competition because many of them have done pageantry before whereas this is my first time competing in a pageant. I am confident that I stand a pretty good chance of winning because I have an amazing team who are working hard to prepare me for the pageant. At the end of the day, I plan to have fun, do my best and enjoy the experience.
6) Tell us some more about this pageant....Ms. Mature
Ms. Mature is an annual pageant that is held during the carnival season. It provides the opportunity for various women that are 26 and older and are of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds to take part.
7) If you were to walk the red carpet which designer would you wear and why?
I would wear Jolie Duzon as she is an up and coming fashion designer from St. Martin. Her style is very colorful, classy and chic.
8) If you was given 1 ticket to fly anywhere in the Caribbean where would you go and why?
I would go to the richly cultured Trinidad and Tobago during the carnival season. While there, I would completely indulge in their culture by playing mass in a glamorous carnival costume, eating their delicious food and going to an energetic Machel Montano, Destra and Denise Belfon concert. I would also do some sightseeing and relax a day at one of their beaches.
9) If the Fashion Police was to have dinner at your home what dish would you prepare?
I love to experiment in the kitchen but would not be doing any experimenting when I prepare a very savory dish for the Fashion Police. I would prepare one of the island’s national dishes for him by serving johnny cakes as the appetizer, fish and funji (corn meal) with corn dumplings and avocado as the main course, and my lemon breeze pie as dessert. The main course will be served with lime juice tastefully sweetened with brown sugar.

10) What do you think of the Fashion Police News Blog?
I think the Fashion Police News Blog is awesome. I have been following it since last year. I love reading the various interviews and personal stories because they often tell of the passion and journey of the successful and highly motivated interviewees.
11) What do you think of men who teach women to walk?
I think it great when men can teach women how to walk especially after perfecting an art.  These men have perfected the art of moving their bodies and I believe that great knowledge should be shared regardless of who is on the receiving end.
12) Where do you see yourself in 8 years time?
In eight years, I plan to be a home owner, a family-oriented mother and an active member of my community… and did I forget, a former Ms. Mature Queen…lol
13) If you had the power to change the pageant world what would you change and why?
Well I am definitely new to the pageant world but if I can change one thing, it would have to be the introduction dance. I would make them extremely simple because I’m more of a free dancer than a choreographed dancer.
14) What would you say is your best assets?
My best asset is definitely my smile and my compassionate spirit. I think I inherited my sharing nature from my mom. She is always helping or sharing with others in the neighborhood.
15) Who are your 4 best friends you would ride and die for?
Definitely my two sisters and my two cousins. They always support me in all of my endeavors (and god knows I have had many endeavors). They look out for me no matter what.
16) Tell us a bit about who your chaperone is?
My chaperones are very young but are no strangers to the pageantry. Although they are just teenagers, they are well known on the island for their laudable work and are creative, energetic and fun to work with. They take their task very seriously and are very passionate about what they do.
17) What music would have you running to the dance floor to shake your booty?
I love all genres of music but Machel Montano and Alison Hinds never fail to get my body moving.
18) What separates a girl from a woman?
 Experience, personal growth and maturity.
19) What can we expect from you on the night of Ms. Mature pageant 2014?
You can expect to see a lot of energy and me giving my all while living in the moment.
20) When not working what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy doing volunteer work, or hanging at the beach, catching up with friends or just relaxing on the front porch of my cousin’s house and chit chatting.
21) If the Fashion Police was to be a fly on your bedroom wall what would they be shocked to see?
They would be shocked by my dancing in the mirror to various genres of music while singing along to the various songs.
22) What advice do you have for anyone looking to enter a pageant?
I would advise her to believe in herself, have fun and enjoy every moment. Being in a pageant is very time consuming to the point where you may even have dreams about it. It is a unique experience and it is important to prepare, be yourself and let your true self shine.
23) Any last words for our many blog readers from around the world?
Life is worth living so do not be afraid to try something new and live out your dreams. At the end the road, people do not regret the things that they did, however they often regret the things that they did not do. I therefore encourage the many blog readers around the world to aspire to inspire and be doers and achievers.  I would like to extend a big thank you to the Fashion Police for choosing to interview me and for being a doer and achiever in the world.
