“God fearing, Selfless and Ambitious”
“Edgy, Classy and Vibrant. Depends on the occasion, time and place. I can go from one extreme to the next - everything including plain Jane.”
4. What perfume are you wearing as we speak?
“Mont Blanc – Legend”
5. Tell us all about yourself as a person?
“Hmmm, when I look in the mirror the reflection I see is a lady most days. A woman with a passion for whatever she does. A mother who will, by all means necessary, teach, mold and prepare my daughter for whatever life throws at her and to be the best at whatever she does. I see a human who has made some mistakes in life and has grown from every wrong decision. I see a forgiving heart. I see a person not afraid to admit that I do not know everything, and will be in learning mode until I die. A sincerely apologetic being for any hurt cause and will, without hesitation approach in person via e-mail, text or a phone call to make it known that I was wrong and sincerely apologize. I am someone who loves to laugh and I love laughter, high spirited and energetic. I see flaws, so I am always working on areas where there is room for self-improvement which is a part of my every day life. I see a strong, driven business woman. An individual, who loves the Lord, loves to praise the Lord and strives hard to do what my Jesus would do in the midst of difficult decisions.”
6. If you were to walk the ‘red carpet.’ which designer would you wear and why?
“In speaking of Red Carpet, I think Grammy’s, MTV Awards etc. If I had the opportunity to walk the Red Carpet today, as much as I would like to wear a high-end designer piece who celebrities wear from the US or any other part of world, I would proudly go the extra mile to walk in something designed by a St. Maarten designer to give them and my gem of an island called St. Maarten exposure.”
7. If you were given one ticket to fly anywhere in the Caribbean, where would you go and why?
“I'm not big on Caribbean islands, but there is something about St. Lucia, namely Sandals, that I would like to experience.”
8. What music would have you running to the dance floor?
“Ritmo Combina, a mixture of native African and European elements played in the Dutch Caribbean. It the music you hear from bands such as Control Band, Cache Royale, Claudius Philips and Dreams.”
9. Who are your four best friends you would ride and die for?
“If I put four names here, it will put me in about four decades worth of trouble. I love all my friends.”
10. If you had the power to change a few things about St Maarten, what would you change and why?
“The thought pattern of our people as it pertains to their sense of entitlement, the way they elect individuals to be the decision makers of our country, their sensitivity to our country’s economy and the importance of education, training and development. You see, thoughts become things and if we can get them to be, think and act with a more positive attitude, we will move mountains!”
11. What are four things you see women doing that make you mad?
“Let’s see, we are all human, men and women alike. From time to time, we will make each other mad. To single out a gender, in my opinion is judgmental. What upsets me is the making of conscious decisions that results unplanned pregnancies or other permanent consequences. It upsets me that there are people of both genders who think that physical, mental and verbal abuse is tolerable.”
12. What do you think of the Fashion Police News Blog?
“I think Mr Fierce is one of the most free-spirited, ambitious, local talented with a passion for fashion ever since I met him. This is some 20 years ago. I am proud of his accomplishments, including the fashion blog and will support him however I can.”
13. What do you think of men who teach women to walk?
“It takes a hell of a man to be in tuned with his femininity so much so that he is able to guide and coach a woman into bringing out the best of hers.”
14. What would you say is your best assets and why?
“Because I am able to acknowledge that I was created in the image and likeness of God, as well as knowing and believing that greater is He within me than he of this world; I can with that say I have many great assets. My ability to be as comfortable and proud of whom I am as a person, flaws and all, is one of many assets that I am proud of. Acknowledging and always remembering from whence I came, knowing where I am, what I want and where I want to go is another shaping tool that’s worth more than gold. Knowing to make use of learning from every mistake through the history I created has only mold, shaped and equipped me with the strength and lessons to further live by. As I strive, I use every opportunity to educate every individual I encounter as it is my responsibility to be my brother’s keeper even if this means exposing my ugliest moments. Once that will save someone else’s future, that’s another asset I am grateful for. My joy for sharing as a way of showing I care proves me generous in the eyes of God who in turn continues to bless me whilst enlarging my territory and then starts the cycle again.”
15. If the Fashion Police was to have dinner at your home, what dish would you prepare them?
“A peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I’m sure he would like to escape the world of the proper diet.”
16. When not working, what do you love doing?
“I love singing so you can find this karaoke junky wherever there is a karaoke machine!”
17. What advice do you have for others looking to walk into your footsteps?
“Prepare to cry a lot, pray a lot and stand strong! It is not as sweet or easy as I make it look. Do not try to win them all, just focus on outlasting them.”
“Pageants have taught me a bunch. One of the main things was to truly appreciate the joy of winning, I had to experience losing. I entered seven pageants; won the first six and lost the last one. All I will say here is I never went back! Pageantry is a responsibility. If you are not serious or strong enough to know that you have to represent that crown for a year: Leave it Alone. There were some negative aspects, but I prefer focus in the positive. I will tell you this: entering a pageant and winning a pageant are two different things. By winning, I mean the crown. It has the ability to change your personality, so be careful ladies.”
“Haha. Preparing to take a shot at earning the confidence of country St Maarten to elect me the next Prime Minister.”
“My parents Esther Ingrid Halley and Reginald Elias Leonard.
My mother - the disciplinarian and law enforcer of my childhood. “No” was her favorite answer to almost any question (or so it seemed) even before you asked sometimes. What I didn’t see then was that she was busy instilling and planting good seeds of wisdom, moral, principal and order, while forming the foundation of my thoughts and sense of responsibility and accountability of growing up to be a grounded and ambitious individual. Oh, she didn’t spare the rod either as she was sure not to spoil me, and that I literally felt. Prayer played a major role as she taught us to kneel and not how we lay in bed these days to pray. Stick to it, regardless how hard it gets for your word is bond and all you have, so quitting is not an option and completion is a part of our responsibility. Carry yourself neatly and keep a clean house. It took a while, but to God be the glory, I finally got this quality on lock!
My earthly father (my hero) was my everything as ‘yes’ was, is and will continue to be the answer to anything pertaining to me. Apple of his eye, according to me, he won’t admit it, but even the blind can see that reality. A proud daddy’s girl, I will always be. My gratitude for his contributions to my education and business endeavors is greater than any other achievement.
I am proud to say that my sister and I have retired both of our parents. We are allowing them to individually enjoy the rest of their youth with a relaxed, comfortable and worry-free mentality. The Bible commands that you honor your mother and father. This commandment, regardless the trials, we will be sure to keep!”

“Beauty is pride-less, truthfulness, sincerity, honesty, ability to be consistent with giving as much as you enjoy taking. Blessing others and sharing accomplishments. Beauty for me isn't skin deep. It is the purity and intentions of one’s heart and soul.”
“As stated before we are all humans and from time to time we will make each other mad.”
“Yes. Live, Love, Laugh and appreciate your ‘haves’ in life. Worry, stress and fight less. The best way to evaluate what situation to go contrary to is by realizing if it won’t matter in five years, it doesn’t matter now. Always remember that the Race is not always won by the Swift or the Battle by the Strong, the Wise sometimes misses the Lesson and the Wealthy sometimes go Hungry.
