The stunning newly crowned Ms Virgin Gorda Easter Festival 2014 Ms Tecora Morgan |
1)Please tell us who you are for those not familiar with you?
Born and raised In the beautiful British Virgin Islands, I'm 18 year old Tecora Morgan, Ms Virgin Gorda Easter Festival 2014. A phenomenal young lady who enjoys the finer things in life. I'm very involved in my community and I help out as much as I can. I enjoy playing soccer, reading and singing.
I would say my fashion sense is eclectic. I love playing with different looks, I'm fine with wearing a pair of jeans and a simple tee and making pop with accessories and then switch it up by having a chic look.
3)What 3 words best describe you as a person?
Three words that best describes me as an individual would have to be talented, ambitious and energetic.
4)What perfume are you wearing as we speak?
Beyoncé Heat
5)What made you enter Ms Virgin Gorda Easter Festival pageant?
I love taking part in festival, and I'm no stranger to the pageant world. I decided to enter the pageant because I thought it would be another great experience, and they do say without experience you cant grow as a person. With all the support and encouragement I thought it would have been a great idea.
6)After meeting all the girls for your last pageant did you knew you was going to win if yes/no why?
After meeting with the girls I felt confident about having a bit more experience than them, but at the same time its a competition and you cant predict who's going to win or not. But I went in to the competition with a good spirit and felt confident enough to bring home the crown.
7)How was the feeling hearing your name call out as the winner?
Everyone knows how great it feels to achieve something that you worked extremely hard for. It was an amazing feeling hearing my name being called as the winner. I felt that all my hard work didn't go to waste.
8)What are your 4 top secrets to winning a crown?
To win a crown will take a lot confidence! Confidence is key. You also got to have the walk, the talk and the poise. Beauty alone won't help you win, you have to have the full package.
Men who teach women how to walk are talented individuals who help women to bring out the best in them. I would say they're a blessing who perform such art.
10)What do you think of the Fashion Police News blog?
I think the blog is very informative, creative and entertaining. It gives people the opportunity to not only get a bit of exposure but also an opportunity to allow people to get to know who they are.
11)When not working what do you love doing?
I love going on the field and playing a bit of soccer, taking long walks while listening to music to clear my mind and relaxing on the beach with a book in my hand.
Yes, I'm actually currently participating in the Ms British Virgin Islands Pageant.
13)If you had the power to change the pageant world what are a few things you would change?
If I had the power to change the pageant world, it would be to ensure that the contestants see their scores at the end of the pageant. Mainly to ensure that they see which areas they are better in.
14)Tell us more about yourself as a person:
I put my best foot forward in all that I do, and I also like to encourage my peers to nothing but the absolute best. Education is key, and I'm studying to become a Forensic Scientist. I'm a generous, kind hearted individual and I like to give back to my community. I'm bettering myself to become a great role model to young girls my age.
I love many genres of music, but soca will definitely make me move my feet..
16)If the Fashion Police was to have dinner at your home what dish would you prepare them?
I do cook, but I would prefer to bring the Fashion Police out to some of the locally owned restaurants to experience the British Virgin Islands native cuisines.
17)What are 4 things you see girls doing in pageants that makes you mad?
Four things I dislike seeing from girls in pageants would be their lack of confidence. Some girls even have a lack of interest, as if they're being forced to take part in the pageant. Also, girls who don't follow instructions and don't practice as much as they should.
18)What is 2 things you just cannot leave home without?
I cannot leave home without my cellphone and my headphones.
Those 4 persons would be my mom, my dad and both of my chaperones. They push me to my limits knowing that I have what it takes to do my best and they always have my back.
20)Who is your role model and why?
My role model is a phenomenal lady in my community who goes by the name of Rose Gardener. She is the epiphany of a renewed spirit and she always gives back to her community even though she is retired from hospitality.
The fact that the journey flies by quickly, the thrill is very anticipating. Being with the girls prior to the pageant, meeting new people and also bettering yourself as a person.
22)If the Fashion Police was to be a fly n your bedroom wall what would they be shocked to see?
Well they will see how much of a heel freak I am, especially how they are color coded in my closet.
My advice to young women entering pageants, is to enter with a good mentality and look at it as entering yourself as a person, mainly because you can learn a lot just from joining a pageant.
24)Where do you see yourself in 8 years time?
Eight years from now I see myself as one of the best forensic scientist in the territory, with my house on the hill and to have a blessed family.
To you the blog readers, life is precious, so make every moment count. In all you do put your best foot forward and do nothing but the best, hard work pays off. Society today isn't easy, so live life for you and no one else. I would like to thank fashion police for interviewing me, and I hope you the readers enjoyed it.
