"Crown Magnet"...Ms Aishira Cicilia Speaks To The Fashion Police In London Town

Ms Aishira Cicilia
1)Please tell us who you are for those not familiar with you?
My name is Aishira Cicilia. I recently returned from the Netherlands to my beautiful island, St. Maarten. Law graduate, Policy worker, born Bachanalist (loves carnival :D), with talent and passion for pageantry that has grown over the years and someone who loves to get involved in community activities.

2)What 3 words best describe you as a person?
Hmm.. Loyal, passionate and open minded.

3)Do you think you’re a true representation of a today's woman if yes no why?
I believe women can and should run the world! (haha) I believe today’s women uses her talents, knowledge and experience to empower herself and the people around her. I try my best to be that kind of woman.
4)Describe your fashion sense?
Hmmm, oddly enough Fashion police, I really just go with how I’m feeling. I don’t put too much thought into fashion, but I do like unique things. The European style has rubbed off on me quite a bit I must say. And I love fashion jewelry! lol

5)Tell us all about the pageants you have participated in?
Teen carnival queen 2003à Queen.
Antillean queen 2003à Queen
Senior carnival queen 2004àQueen and I won my very first car!!
Jaycees Caribbean pageant in Antigua 2004à I placed 3rd runner up.
Miss Sunset Bikini contest 2010à ‘Queen’ and I won my second car!
Rotterdam Summer Carnival Queen in the Netherlandsà 2nd runner up.

6)What are your secrets to winning?
In every segment I try to bring out my personality the best I can, find a balance between entertainment and the message I want to convey and practice, practice practice. Oh and I have a dream team behind me, they have thought me all the tricks in the trade.

7)If you was giving 2 tickets to fly anywhere in the world where would you fly to and why?
I would definitely take a flight to visit OPRAH while she is having Maya Angelou, Tyler Perry and Beyonce over. Because if you want to talk about today’s women and movers in the world, those are the people! Secondly I’ll take a much anticipated trip to England! Unfortunately I did not get to visit England while living in the Netherlands, but I’d want Fashion police to take me to the hot stops and shops ;)

8)If you was to walk the red carpet which designer would you wear and why?
I would wear one of my aunt Sheila Sorton’s designs. She is hands down St.Maarten’s best eveningwear designer. Always a couple years ahead when it comes to her designs!

9)How did you use to prepare for your past pageants?
First think about what I want to do/portray. Then sit with my dream team and then we work our magic (question 6). I have to big up my dream team, each has contributed to one of more of my pageants and help form the woman I am today. My aunt Sheila Sorton, Bevil Byam, Garfield Young, Glenis Thomas, my grandma and family and friends for being my best critics and supporters.

10)What are a few things you see contestants doing on stage that is so wrong?
When contestants come out of character. You can’t suddenly become a professional dancer or musician after a few weeks of serious training. Use your natural talents. Another thing you can immediately tell Is when they haven’t seriously put thought and practice into their segments.
Or when they enter the pageant for other reasons then inner self-enrichment, those are the ones that get demotivated and give up quickly.

11)What do you think of the Fashion Police News Blog?
Fashion Police News Blog is great! I enjoy reading the interviews of fellow St. Maarteners and other interesting people in the industry.

13)If you had the power to change the pageant world what would you change and why?
The fact that the pageant world seems to be a reflection of the fashion industry when it comes to height and fashion. Pageants should be more about substance!

14)What have you learnt from competing in all these pageants?
WOW so many things! That women are beautiful, talented and patriotic, especially on the inside. Most importantly for me, these pageants have brought me out of my shell, I’ve learnt that I have something to say and people listen when I speak.

15)Our question to you is why is it that when our local queens go out to represent the island 97%of the time they don't place nor win what do you think we can do to improve on this?
It’s a combination of financing, support and the candidate herself. My dynamic team (Lysette, Fabiana and Melisa ) together with the St.Maarten Carnival Foundation hope to make a change in that. I see a few crowns in our future!!

16)Who are your 4 best friends you would ride and die for?
We have grown to be more like soul sisters! These 4 ladies have my back no matter what and I learn from their strength, motivation, determination, failure, success and the way they carry it all with class. Everonique, Nerissa, Wilmina and Nadine absolutely love them!

17)What music would have you running to the dance floor to shake that booty?
Soca and dancehall! Did I tell you I’m a bachanalist?! hahaha
18)What are 4 things men do that makes you mad?
Not contribute in the upbringing of their kids. Being lazy, unambitious, lies and cheat.
19)What's the worse chat up line you  ever heard from a guy?
I really tune out after I hear: hey gyal, psst or come hear nuh.. I don’t wait for the line lol.
20)If the Fashion Police was to have dinner at your home what would you prepare them?
I would cook my favorite porkchop! Anyway you like it!
21)If the Fashion Police was to be a fly on your bedroom wall what would they be shocked to see?
That I’m basically ‘living’ out of my suitcases. Waiting for my boxes to arrive any day now LOL.

22)What advice do you have for young ladies looking to enter pageants?
Having done pageants, being a chaperon and now co-pageant coordinator I see how ladies grow from the experience. If you are thinking about it, do it! It’s hardwork but I promise win or lose it’s worth it in the end.

23)What do you love doing in your free time?
If I’m not dancing, I’m playing football, involved in a pageant somehow, reading a book or watching one of my favorite TV shows.

24)Who are your role models and why?
My grandma, mom, best friends. I admire and look up to different women for different things.

25)Any last words for our many blog readers worldwide?
Fashion police readers, Thank you for reading my interview. I envision your someone with or working on your goals and ambitions. Keep at it, every setback is a set up for a better comeback!

General Manager to Bershka Oxford Street Ms Emese Ferenczy
1)Please tell us who you are and what you do for those not familiar with you?
Hello Fashion Police:-) my name is Emese, and i'm the store manager for Bershka at Oxford street.I'm working with the company over 8 years now....I started here as a sales assistant in 2005 when the first Bershka opened in London.
Actually this was my first job, and at the moment the last:-)

2)What 3 words best describe you as a person?
realible, organized and i also feel, i'm a very lucky person.
3)Describe your Fashion Sense?
Wow...it'really hard...it's a kind of mixed. After 8 years in Bershka, where you have to wear only the company clothes 5 days a week, not easy to tell. (Imagine how much clothes i have from Bershka:-))But i like to look feminine, even if I go to the gym:-)
And I feel I like to dress comfortable even if I go out.I think this is very important. If you feel comfortable what you wear,- ( doesn't mean it can't be sexy) -you will feel more confident. (For example, I wouldn't wear a very high platform shoes, just because it's fashion, and after an hour ,walk like an ostrich,or bare foot , like many girls do.
4)Do you think your a true representation of a today's woman if yes/no why?
Well....how would you describe the today's women?! Honestly, I don't really know.
Most of my friends, and schoolmates are mothers already, and I just got married about 3 month ago. And to be honest I still feel I'm a child to have babys:-)...and actually I'm really not!!!:-(
I feel I can stand on my own feet. In my career what  I achived so far, I did it on my own.
5)If you was to walk the red carpet which designer would you wear and why?
I think I would chose Valentino or Anthony Vacarrello(i loved JLo's look recently in his dress) .But nowadays I really like Michael Kors.
6)Tell us all about your role as a manager for and how you manage your timing with your personal life?
I have about 45 people to manage, and also thousands of customers every day.But I feel i have a very good team now, which make my work easyer.
Use to i did so much overtime.I went earlyer to work, and stayed hours longer to get things done. But since i found the love of my life:-), i want to spend with him as much time as possible.I know that work is important, but you can't forget the people around you. I don't like to bring work  home.If I'm off, I want to be 100% off, and concentrate on other things.
What I always say, you will know how good manager you are, when you are not in the store. If it's runs without you smoothly, you will know you have a well trained team, and you will have even less to do:-)
7)What makes a good worker at your store?
Good image, friendly look, realible, energetic, and independent. I like when someone knows what he/she has to do without me saying it.
Mr/Ms Ferenczy makes amazing models as well
8)What are 4 things men do that makes you mad?
Hmm, i really have to think...I would say I don't like when they can't make decisions, and they ask you "where do you want to go, what would you like to do, we can do what you want"I like when they use their imagination and surprise me.
I don't like if they love themselves, and talking about themselves too much, and If they spend more time in the bathroom than I do.
If they are leaving their dirty things around the house.
Thanks God my husband only do the last one:-) But I always think, I shouldn' be mad at him leaving his dirty socks everywhere, as I know I would miss it if I wouldn't have him anymore...
9)If you was given 2 tickets to fly any where in the world where would you go and why?
Definitely Seychelles! That's my dream right now, and actually i'm already looking the travel websites:-) I 'm planning my honeymoon there.
10)If the Fashion Police was to have dinner at your home what would you prepare them?

11)When not running your busy store on oxford street what do you enjoy doing when your free?
Travel!!! If i have minimum 3 days off together, i never stay at home.I book a cheap trip somewhere in Europe. Also on my holidays, I never stay in the country. I love to see other parts of the World. We live once, and I think it's a good thing to know and see how is the life in the other side of the world. This experience what never nobody can take away from me.
On my days off i just rest, and usually going to my pole dance class:-).sometimes  we go out to have a dinner, or cinema with friends. But nothing special.

Chloe
14)Where do you see yourself in 7 years time?

When I'm out I like the songs what is on the charts. You know, the popular ones, what everyone knows.  Or I like the 80's 90's partys as well. That can be so funny.

True beauty definitely starts from inside. You can be the most beautiful person outside, but have a horrible, or boring personality. That can completely destroy the outer beauty.
17)Plus size women can they also shop at your store if not what is being done to change that?
Use to we only went up to Large, and size 12.But now we have size Xl, and size 16.
18)What are you thoughts on plus size models?
We need them for sure! Huge part of the population are oversized, so actually that's reality. What's really not normal in my opinion the size 0 models. Why the fashion world think they can advertise clothes better than the bigger sizes? I just don't understand. So unrealistic.
19)Tell us briefly about the indetex company which you work for?
It's actually the number 1 retailer of the World It' also own the brands like Zara , Pull and Bear, Massimo Dutti , Stradivariud, Oysho, Uterque.
Bershka is 15years old now, and has 885 stores in 64 countries around the world.

That I know what I'm doing at work.
And my staff. It' much easyer to work in a good and happy atmosphere.
21)If the Fashion Police was to be a fly on your bedroom wall what would they be so shocked to see?
Omg...., i think you expecting me to say something crazy.....but unfortunately I won't....... I just fell asleep sooooo quickly. Every night we watch series, but me I usually fall asleep at the "what's happened in the previous episode"part:-) So really, you would see me sleeping...,
22)What would you say is your best assets?
I would say my height.I like to be tall, I like my long legs:-)
