Tatiana Giraud of GTM Models Speaks To The Fashion Police Of London Town

CEO to GTM Models is Ms Tatiana Giraud(photo by Polydor and make up by Chloe Smith)

1)Please tell us who you are and what you do for those not familiar with you?

My name is Tatiana Giraud and I am the Director of GTM Models and the CEO of the TG
Foundation, a UK registered charity that helps women and children in the Democratic
      Republic of Congo.

2)What 2 words best describe you as a person?

     Persistent and focused.

Email..................info@gtmmodels.com
Website.............................www.gtmmodels.com

3)Do you think your a true representation of a today's woman if yes/no why?

What is today's woman haha?!! I guess I am educated, independent and ambitious, which is
what today's women pride themselves in! Self-determination and being in control of our own
      destiny!

4)Tell us all about GTM Models and how you started till this date?

GTM Models is one years old this month so happy birthday GTM Models! I started it whilst I
still had a full-time job and I was volunteering my spare time for the charity so it was tough! I
went full-time with it last August and its gone from strength to strength!

5)What makes a good model?

Someone who listens and is good at taking advice. A person who realises it's a business and
that there is a formula to developing into a strong model and that you have to be good-
looking and have certain measurements, but that it is also very important to be smart and
have a good team around you to help you go to the next level in our career!

6)What do you look for when scouting for fresh faces?

Most of our clients are in fashion, so height and a good body are important for GTM Models.
We also look for a hidden beauty, strength or quirkiness...someone who has that je ne c'est
      quoi!

7)How can someone from the other side of the world learn more about your agency?

Hopefully if they Google GTM Models we will come up!

Tatiana Giraud of GTM Models

8)Describe your fashion sense?

I love comfort and simplicity. True fashion for me is following fashion, but wearing what you
love even if it's not in fashion. Being able to sometimes dislike what is in trend and being true
to your own taste can also be very fashionable! After all looking unique as well as in trend is
important! I try to stick to wearing what I truly love and leopard print and navy stripes will
always have a place in my wardrobe haha!

9)What are a few problems models face on a daily basis?

Competition is rife! There are some amazing looking models who are also in trend and
understand fashion and click with the clients or casting directors. It's important models
understand that they have to have the full package and not just be a pretty face or have a
'look' so that when they have the opportunity to go to castings they stand out and have better
chance of being booked! No-one likes boring! You need to sell yourself in a subtle way.

10)When not working what do you enjoy doing?

I love hanging out with close friends and love eating out and believe it or not sight-seeing!
London is great for history and culture! Art galleries are also great hang outs.

Tatiana Giraud back in the days doing her thing as a former model

11)If you were to walk the red carpet at an event which designer would you wear and why?

I think for me it would be Vintage Valentino or Oscar de la Renta. These designers for me
are from a different era; an era of real, unadulterated quality and glamour.

12)If the fashion police was to have dinner at your home what would you prepare them?

Definitely no carbs haha! Fish, vegetables...I would pop open the Champagne and spoil
them with some French patisserie for dessert!

13)Which 2 models do you think are the best runway walkers?

       Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista.

14)What do you think of the fashion police news blog?

I think it is great! Very diverse which is important to remind people fashion is not only
exclusive but it should be relatable and real at times too.

15)What do you think of men who teaches women how to walk?

I find it very entertaining and fun! Love it!

16)If we was to be a fly on your bedroom wall what would we be shocked to see?

Well at the moment I'm lying on my bed wearing a bodycon dress and my bright red high
heeled sandals haha! Not exactly bedtime attire!

17)What perfume are you wearing as we speak?

        Loulou by Cacharel.

18)How can someone apply to be a model at your agency?

By filling out the contact us form on our website.

19)Do you think anyone can be a model?
       No.

20)What do you think of size 0 models on the runway?

I think it should be illegal. A US 2 should be the smallest legal size which is a UK 6. I think 0
is just too small and a woman clearly is not eating at that point.  The very limit for me is a
small 2US.... That's small enough for Gods sake!

21)Where do you see your agency in 10 years time?

I hope one of the Worlds prestige model agencies.

22)There are so many agencies out there what makes you different from all the rest?

I like to think we have a culture that promotes mutual respect and that also empowers
models to be business women not just pretty faces! I want to create an environment of trust
between the agency and models not a place of hostility.

23)What are you 4 fashion tips that you live by?

Cleanse your skin regularly, don't show both cleavage and legs (only one or the other),
invest in a little black dress as you will always need one and don't over accessorise; it can
        ruin an outfit.

24)What are 4 things men do that makes you mad?

Abandoning their parental responsibilities , not being gentlemanly (there's never a good
excuse for this), not grooming themselves on the basis thy are men and treating women
       disrespectfully!

Tatiana Giraud CEO of GTM Models

25)Should models have to pay for pictures?

Yes sometimes, but rarely ! Testshoots are important but if you need a particular look in your
book and you can't get the testshoot then you should pay if your agency knows this will help
to market you. It's an investment and you can't expect a free ride all the way especially not at
the beginning! A good agency should source good testshoots though so most times models
won't pay! All our new faces get testshoots.

26)What advice do you have for others looking to start their own agency as well?

Make sure you love it and it is a passion (that applies to every career I think).

Tatiana strikes a pose

27)Any last words for our many blog readers world wide?

Time is the most precious gift yo have so don't waste it!

19)What advice do you have for any lady who is thinking of doing the pageant next year?
I would advise any woman that is thinking of entering this pageant to:
Do their research prior, make sure that this is for you.  Its alot of hard work, being pretty and having a nice body wont make you place or win
save save save, because if sponsor dont work out, this pageant is expensive, especially if you want all the finer things in the pageant.
Have patience and get good rest, because once your in it, your life is moving so quickly.  Outings and rehersals takes up so much time, and remember we still have our every day life

20)If you was to walk the red carpet which designer would you wear and why?
LV i love his style of clothes and i love love his bags and i would match with a pair of Louboutin shoes.  Love me some red bottoms.

I would try to make people understand that CHANGE is good.  People need to understand that not because something is the accontomed means that its right.  Being open to change shows growth

22)What are a few things you love about St Maarten Carnival?
The fact that our carnival is mixed, our diversity.  On parade day you get to see all the different nations come together and display their crafts.  Jouvert morning (when the bands come on the road) is also very entertaining.  2 weeks of parading, shows, local food from our booth holders.  Carnival does not get better than this.

23)What do you think about the fashion police news blog?
Police News is an interesting blog site shows you what's hot, i love Mr. Fierce's style.  Covering some events and keeping the fashion world up to date, God knows many people need it.  I love the  arresting part for  those who are just not cutting it.  This is always funny.  (can you please arrest those people that wear white pumps ).  Mr. Fierce comes from a caribbean back ground so it gives him an edge over other bloggers and other fashion guru.  The site it self is well kept and keeps us entertained and well informed.

24)What do you think of men who teaches women to walk?
I think that men have something extra, they are unique and see things that a woman trainer would not see.  They are very particular and has that extra spunk.

25)Any last words for our many blog readers world wide on your upcoming Ms Mature pageant where your a contestant?
Thank you to fashion police for this opportunity to e on your blog for the world wide blog readers.  Please stay tuned because I am about to blow you away.  If I am allowed to come back after my show on April 22 i plan to make you proud no matter what the outcome.

26)What do you think of women with curves on the catwalks?
I think women with curves is a great thing on the run way, we have to remember that God did not create us all to look the same way.  Women with curves are sexy and in a fashion class by them selves.  Curvy women on the run way with attitude shows confidence.  Tyra Banks has hips, bust, and backside, and she has embrace that she is not a size 1 and she has very successful model.  Embrace your curves and show the world WOMEN run it with curves (smile).

On behalf of the Fashion Police News Blog we would like everyone to go out in full force and support this contestant in the Ms Mature Carnival Pageant to be held on April 22nd at the Festival Village on St .Maarten...tell your friend to tell their friend that we are all supporting Ms Paula Gordon contestant #10

Top Plus Size Model Ms Cherry Red Rachy Speaks To The Fashion Police

Top Plus size model Ms Cherry Red Rachy
1)Please tell us who you are for those not familiar with you?

Hello there. I am Cherry Red Rachy - I am an alternative BBW model

2)What 3 word best describe you as a person?

I am FEISTY, CREATIVE and INDIVIDUAL.

3)Describe your fashion sense?

As a mature alternative woman who is also interested in fashion I describle my fashion sense as ROCK N ROLL QUEEN. There is no reason as one matures, to ignore the faithfullness to ones style. However age does dictate an appropriateness required.

4)Do you think your a true representation of a today's woman if yes/no why?

Most definiately. Women of age and size are shockingly under represented in the mainstream - as is ANY alternative fashion.

5)If you was to walk the red carpet which designer would you wear?

I love designers .. Jean Paul Gaultier would be dramatic and fun... Michael Kors would be interesting and appropriate. Ben De Lisi would produce a stunningly beautiful gown... Vivienne Westwood would have fun clashing with my style.. however... the late great Alexander McQueen would probably have encapsulated my personality and my curves.

6)If you was given 1 ticket to fly any where in the world where would you go and why?

I have seen little of the world so anywhere would be greatfully received - although I would like to visit the Americas first. Friends in Texas and Florida would be sooo excited :)

7)Tell us all about you as a person,we want to know everything.......

Im a challange even to myself. I have found my niche late in life after a difficult childhood and aimless wanderings. I am fiercely loyal, sarcastic and funny. I enjoy the solitude of my own company and love to cook, draw and decorate. I am a strong believer in doing what is right - no matter the cost. Animal lover with a penchant for Terry Pratchett books and costume drama TV and a collection of over 200 pairs of shoes.

8)If you had the power to change the fashion world what would you change and why?

The fashion world is changing - but far too slowly. The idea that a 'plus sized' model is a size 14 (the national average) still grates at me. I am not dissing the more slender models but.... ALL SIZES should be represented AND labelled correctly.... starting IMMEDIATELY... and if JPG can use BBW models on his runways, so can everyone else.

9)What makes a good model?

Attitude.... quite simply put.... if you have the presence to be photogenic or lucky enough to be able to walk.. your natural talent WILL take you so far. A good model will be easy to work with, pleasant to converse with, amenable to difficult situations, focused, creative  PATIENT and controlled.

10)If the fashion police was to be a fly on your bedroom wall what would they be shock to see?

My sleeping attire..... I have a penchant for sleeping in t shirts and boy shorts....

11)What do you love most when doing photo shoots?

The banter... when on set we are ALL equal..I love talking to the make up artists and hairdressers, lighting techs and the photographer.

12)What would you say is your best assets?

HAHAHAH. ;)p .. in all honesty... my eyes.... I can use them to draw people into an image.

13)What do you think of the Fashion Police News Blog?

Im addicted.... nuff said :)

14)Who are your 2 best friends you would ride and die for?

My friends Shelley and Danella (and a quick mention to my ex husband Sid.. still my best friend)

15)What are 4 things men do that makes you mad?

I couldnt possibly keep it to just four... :)

16)What music would have you running to the dance floor to shake that booty?

Guns and Roses still moves me even after 20 years... im currently obsessing about a group called the Black Veil Brides....

17)What is the worse chat up line that i guy ever said to you?

Trust me - the worst is unpublishable....

18)What do you think of men who teaches women to walk?

Women dont walk (a certain way) for women - we should celebrate men strong enough to embrace both the masculine and the feminine AND convey themselves to teach.

19)What is more sexy a man in the following......(1)boxers.......(2)briefs........(3)thongs?

Man in a thong??!!!!!!!!! noooooooooo - lol... I personally prefer briefs.. nice... tight... black.... cough - anyone got some water - Im feeling a little flushed ;)

20)If you was given the chance to do a shoot with 3 other plus size models of your choice who would you choose?

Sadly the choices are not such that I have many to choose from. Velvet D'Amour and Tess Munster would most definitely feature.

21)If you was to stay home on valentines with your lover what would you wear and cook?

You cant go wrong with suspenders and stockings under a LBD...... as for food..... I do an amazing moroccan roast lamb..roasted veggies and red wine followed by amaretto infused chocolate mousse... YUM.

22)What advice do you have for anyone looking to walk into your footsteps?

DONT GET SUCKED INTO PORN

23)What is one thing people may say about you that is not true that you would love to address here?

I hate bullys and sometimes standing up to them you have to be a little hard.. inevitably there are two sides to every argument and I have been accused of being a bully myself. This is one of the most untrue things ever said about me. I have a strong personality but I most certainly do not go out of my way to hinder people for my own satisfaction..... quite the reverse.

Ian Brock Photography

24)Any last words for our readers?

Stay true to yourself.... NEVER let an injustice go unrectified if it is within your power to do so.... love as many people as you can... buy local produce... support animal charities ...... hold your head high and NEVER EVER forget to read FASHION POLICE NEWS BLOG. All the best for 2013 xxx

2)What 2 words best describe you as a person? Nice, Quite.

3)What do you enjoy doing when your free? I love going to the mall, movies and hanging with my two sisters and my best friends

.

4)Do you think your a true representation of a today's teenager? I think so; I'm fun, outgoing, and love to have lots of fun like teenagers do. Good student in school, I go to church and love to stay on my cell phone..lol.

5)Who are your 4 best friends you would do anything for? My mom (Carrie) My grandma (Corine), my twin sister (dejohnna) & my other sister (Ashley).

6)If you was to walk the red carpet which designer would you wear and why? I'm becoming a designer myself so I would love to wear my own collections: The D.D. Collections..by Diva Davanna but if it had to be someone really famous it would Vera Wang.

7)If you was given 1 ticket to fly any where in the world where would you go to and why? Disney World, so I could have so much fun for a few days.

8)What makes a good model in your own eyes? I'm being thought that a model should not only have confidence on the runway, and be a good walker but able to be a good role model and be able to do things to help other people. That is the kind of good model I'm trying to be.

9)If you had the power to change 2 things about the fashion world what would you change? That you should not have to be really tall to be a model, and if we could see a lot more African American models in the big high fashion runway shows.

10)What music do you love listening to? Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys.

11)Tell us all about you as a person and your experience when you graced the Tyra Banks TV Show? I'm very quit and I stay to myself except when I'm in the house or around friends and family, but I'm most outgoing when I'm on the runway, I love fashion and going to the mall with my friends. Well on the Tyra show I was so nervous and scared because I was going to meet a big super star like Tyra Banks, I didn't know what she was going to ask me or if she was going to like me so that made me scared and nervous. But when it was time for me to walk I felt good because I knew that I was not nervous to do that. But I had a lot of fun meeting Tyra Banks and she was so nice to me.

12)Which 3 models would you say is the best walkers? Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell & Chanel Iman

13)Tell us all about your experience when you met Ms Jay? Ms Jay was so much fun, he had me  laughing and feeling comfortable while I was at the taping of ANTM.

14)What do you think of the Fashion Police News Blog? When my mom first let me see the blog I was trying to read everything in one night because it was so much fashion stuff on there, and I love reading all about fashion, I like all the updates and new stories on the site and I really like the celebrity pictures. I'm so glad to be a part of the blog.

15)What's the secret to having such a FIERCE walk? Well you have to do a lot of practice and have confidence on the runway and just be yourself.

16)Where do you see yourself in 10 years time? Right now I'm in the 8th grade, good student in school so I have to keep that up so I could get in a good college for business. Right now I'm working on my own clothing line with my mom (photo attached), I also have my own line of glamour boxes for young girls (photo attached) it’s called The Glamour Box Collections. So hopefully in 10 years I will have my own designs on high fashion runways and on high fashion models and in boutiques.

17)How can anyone from the other side of the world learn more about you? They can always go to my web site  www.divadavanna.com  and there they can follow me on face book, twitter, or sign up on my fan page.

18)If you was to make the Fashion Police News reporters breakfast what would you prepare? What kind of cereal do you like…lol, if my mom don't cook me breakfast then that’s my morning breakfast so we can have cereal and toast and orange juice.

19)What are 3 things you see models doing on the runway that's a NO NO? walking to fast and when they get to the front they turn back around to fast, so the photographers can't get any pictures. And never walk to the music, always try to tune it out and just be yourself and walk.

20)If the fashion Police was to be a fly in your home what would we be shock to see? I love to dance and act crazy to my just dance video’s, you would be shock to see me have so much fun while not on the runway

.

21)Do you think everyone can be a model? Yes, it don't matter your size or color, everybody can be a model.

22)What advice do you have for young girls growing up that would love to follow in your footsteps? A lot of young girls my age always think they can't be a at modeling or singing or anything that they want to do, I always tell my friends and other kids that you can be whatever you want to be, but it is a lot of hard work so you have to work hard to be the best. Some time I want to go to the movies with my friends but I have a show so I can't go, but I go the next time because modeling is something that I want to do so you have to work hard first then I have lots of fun the next time. So be whatever you want to be but put church and school first.

23)What would you say is your best assets? my mom tells me just like foot ball players their best assets are there legs and hands, and singers have their voice, so I would say my legs because most models need them for walking in so many fashion shows.

24)Who taught you how to walk? His name is Timothous Smart, he’s my mom’s best friendand when my mom used to give her fashion shows he used to do the make-up for all the models,  he was also a runway trainer and he also gave fashion shows to, he would be at my mom’s practices and her fashion shows and he said to my mom that Davanna has a fierce little walk to be so young and that he wanted to work with me so I could really know how to walk and do my turns and really be a diva on the runway, so he started training me and that’s how I got really good on the runway.

25)What's your favorite food that you would clean the dish empty? Shrimp, oh my goodness that is the best food ever. I love, love shrimp.

26)If you had a chance to meet the catwalk professor who is also known as Mr Fierce what would you say to him? Just like it was so much fun to meet Ms Jay Alexander I know it would be so much fun to meet you. I would like to ask you how did you get started and how did you the name catwalk professor.

27)Any last words for our many blog readers world wide? First I want to thank the catwalk professor/ Mr Fierce for giving the opportunity to be featured on  Fashion Police News, and I say to all my friends & fans to please continue to support me.

Thank you once again for featuring Ms Diva Davanna on the Fashion Police News.
