1) Please tell us who you are and what you do for those not familiar with you?

Hi my name is Karen and i am from Wirral. I am a 25year old hair stylist with 7 years experience of styling. I am a Session Stylist for Photography shoots, Fashion events, Music video and T.V.

3)There are so many hair stylists what makes you different from the rest?

I have an emmence amount of passion regarding my work and each style i create along with attention to detail. My scope is not limited, i am versitile and unique in bringing my own individual flare of ideas. I believe no idea is wasted.

4)What makes you a good hair stylist?

I listen to my clients requests and needs, i have great customer service skills and a high amount of patience, haha, you definitely need to have patience! And my own creations when given free range are out of the box which i think is a great quality to have as a hair stylist. I enjoy the preperation and planning, i admit i am an organised girl...mood boards and lists of what i need to do.haha

5) What are a few things women do with their hair that makes you mad,name 4 things?

Not having their hair cut regularly because they are growing it. Hair grows unevenly so eventually it will need a good chop which brings you back to square one!

Women that ask you to blowdry their hair then tie it up in a bobble straight away before they leave, its a waste of a great blowdry if you ask me.

Women who cut their childrens hair then ask you to fix it.

Women who constantly touch their hair when you in the middle of working on it, they might get their fingers chopped off!

6) Who are your 4 best friends you would ride and die for?

My sister Hayley, she is my ultimate best friend and a second mum to me.

My friend Kelly,she is the strongest person i know and shes totally nuts and full of energy i didnt know anyone could have.

My friend Claire, she is so thoughtful and listens to anything i have to get off my chest.

My friend Nicky, Shes also an amazing hair stylist and is there when i need her without fail.

My cousin Becky, shes the funniest person i know, such dry humour and quick off the mark shes ace!

I realise i have 5 there but hey you need to break the rules sometimes.

7)If you had the chance to style 3 people of your choice who would it be and why?

ooo this is a hard one, id have to say The Rock! he'd have to grow it slightly but its a chance to get my hands on him!

Pink, shes my idol and would love to style her hair for her tours and music videos.

Rhonda Byrne, writer of The Secret. Purely so i can thank her for releasing such powerful material.

8)Do you think you are a true representation of a todays woman?

I like to think im an independant woman whose driven and knows what she wants. I work hard which we all do and im not afraid to say what i want in life.

9)If you were given 2 tickets to fly anywhere in the world where would you go and why?

I am one of those people that want to try anything once and go everywhere once so i cant possibly choose. The world is far too big.

10)What do you think of men who teaches women to walk?

I think its fab and why not hey, some wont admit it but men can totally strut.

11)If you were to stay at home on valentines with your lover what would you cook and wear?

Id just be happy not to be alone on valentines haha. It would depend on the personality of my lover but i guarentee id put full effort in.

12)What is more sexy choose the following men in.....(1) boxers....(2) briefs.....(3) thongs?

Haha id have to say theres nothing sexier out of the shower wearing a towel, but if i have to choose id say boxers for me its more manly.

13)If we were a fly on your bedroom wall what would we be shocked to see?

The amount of kirbygrips i leave around the place, i tend to take them out of my hair and forget where ive put them,my floor is covered.

14)What are a few things people say about you that is not true that you would love to address?

People who dont know me can somethimes thing im extremely confident due to my hair colour and style, but this is not always the case. I have insecurities like every normal person does.

15)We know you are a hair stylist for an upcoming shoot on July 1st with the Catwalk Professor who is a tv personalityto ITV2 and MTV what can we expect from you as the stylist to his hair?

Basically something that reflects his huge personality, its going to be a style to remember!

16)What advice would you give to anyone wanting to be a hairdresser?

I would say hang in there and stick with it through your training, its not the most exciting time at first but it gets a whole lot better and rewarding. Knowing you can change a persons style and regain someones confidence through wearing a new look youve created is the best feeling.

17)What are a few things that men do that make you mad?

Im guessing this isnt hair related then.....men are unpredictable thats all ill say.

18)What attracts you to someone?

Personality and warmth within a person. I am a big believer of the law of attraction and i can recognise others that think the same way i do and who are positive people to be around.

19)Can you master any hair type?

Yes i can handle any hair type however if somone asks me to create a certain style who has the opposite hair type to whats required for the look then thats a challenge an i will then advise an alternative.

20)How can we see a hairstyle and know it was you that created it?

Id like to think that was possible and maybe people who know me can but there are so many talented hair stylists amongst us i would be honoured if recognised.

21)What do you think of the fashion police news blog?

I think its just what we need, Mr Fierce is extremely talented and its great to share his knowlege and insight.

22)If you were not a hair stylist what would you be doing?

I cant imagine me not being a stylist however I have an interest for fitness so a personal trainer would be an option.

23)What do you enjoy doing when your not working?

I dont have much time to myself lately but when i do i like to catch up with my friends which normally involves me playing around with their hair and trying new styles. I cant seem to switch off if im not physically hair styling im then researching new ideas for future work, i love it what can i say.

24)What inspires you to keep doing what you do?

Like i mentioned before, the way you can transform someones personalty by bringing their confidence back through a hair style youve created is a powerful thing. As to my avant guard side of hairdressing i just love to stand back and see the unique look thats all my doing. I feel proud when i get such great feedback of my work it motivates me.

25)Any last words for our many blogg readers?

Pageant judges how good can they judge..

As the award winning"Best Model Trainer"in the UK known as the man who teaches all the girls to walk and am also a tv personality to ITV2/MTV,have worked with many pageants,fashion shows up to London Fashion Week this have given me a keen eye to fashion and what i look for when judging a pageant.Few years back i would host pageants on the island of st maarten and all my winners went on to win more than 1 crown after winning the contest i hosted why?Because i know what my judges must look for and i don't joke when it comes  to that department.....when i select i winner it's not only for that one night she needs to have what it takes to go regionally and internationally.......she must have what it takes standing next to other girls in top events as she is representing my title that she have won.Example D'shnay york won her first pageant when she was 2 which was a contest i hosted and went on to win 2 more now holds 3 crowns.......cherriane won the 2nd annual baby swimsuit show and went on to win the Junuir carnival queen pageant.......Vanessa won the model of the year contest i hosted and went on the win 2 more crowns now have 3 crowns........Tiffany won the future face of st maarten photo model contest and was now recently crowned Ms Pinchounette on french st maarten so she hold now 2 crowns......JUST TO NAME A FEW....WHY DO YOU THINK SO?my judges are carefully selected and are told what am looking for..........How often does a girl from st maarten win a pageant and go out and bring a crown back?hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yes question that Dominica does it.......Antiqua does it..................Trinidad does it........................St.Kitts does it..................WHY CANT ST MAARTEN DO IT?.......think about it.

What must judges look for?

lets start by talent as i was on the island of St Maarten......am all the way living in London but as soon as i heard a certain talent i knew it was a copy......now judges sitting there don't even know,come on now.Other girls took time learning to play with fire,some was jumping off stage,some was doing some amazing dancing that was all put together by them...they have put in such hard work then one just go on you tube copy a talent and was awarded best talent ......GET OUT OF HERE WAKE UP,i have judge pageants before things like that fall as a 0 on my judging sheet create your own.How can you then be putting your hand on your cruch then the audience loves that......slackness is that what makes a queen.......A queen is style,confidence and lady like.Fashion Police supported D'shnay all the way and her talent is the strongest message there that night hands down .....after her talent was done 2 days later someone got shot in front of the carnival village.Name of her talent take a bite from crime which is on the rise world wide we all have known someone who have lost their life by crime.A talent must not be a copy am so tired of hearing all girls singing that song from calypso rose.....boaring.....BRING SOMETHING FRESH.We will soon be interviewing the girl who did this talent first in nevis and hear what she has to say about this.....hmmmm

Carnival costume?

When am looking at a costume am looking for culture when i see it from a distance i must know what it is no time to guess sorry,D'shnay custume brought st maarten culture alive with tanny and the boys who are true icons to the island.We keep talking all the crap on bringing and keep our culture and when we try they over look us......PUT YOUR GLASSES ON.....when we are talking about carnival i want to see culture and things that represent an island of your birth.........................

I never laughed so much with the design Ms D'shnay York had for her culture wear and was not awarded that prize.......What were you looking for,when am judging i don't need nothing to distract me all i need to see is the girl thats all.............................JUDGING NEEDS AN UPGRADE QUICK......Any one who sees that would know the honest truth but hey........WHERE ARE WE?

To all other pageants please have a criteria that meets very high standards....you just don't want a winner for one night you want a winner who will continue to go in top events and do the island proud,Jamaica does it....St.kitts does it........Dominica does it.......Antiqua does it..........................St.Maarten?

When a girl steps on stage you must be able to see her in other top events doing well,from evening gown....swimsuit.....talent and what ever other appearance their might be.judges should not listen the the noise the audience makes if you go by that then why are you there then?If this girl is a teen must carry herself like a teen if a senior must be lady like.I think a seminar should be done when selecting judges for pageants,and have the same judges for 5 years running is so not in.............GET REAL

Can St.Maarten start taking crowns outside the island.....................YES THEY CAN BUT ALL STARTS BY THE LOCAL SHOWS......................................WAKE UP

i speak what i feel from my many years in the business if you don't like what ever i may have said sorry for being real......Question why every year the amount of girls get less....THINK ABOUT IT.

If every year our girls was stealing talents from other shows the rest of the world would question us on our talents....ST MAARTEN HAS SUCH GREAT TALENT LETS WAKE UP FROM OUR SLEEPING SLUMBER AND BRING THOSE TALENTS ALIVE.

I want to see judges who are carefully selected once this is done watch this space look  how the island will start bringing crowns back home but again it all starts LOCAL

copying any talent should not be allowed unless you have the urge to change it up to your own style and liking.Again contestants are not the ones to be blamed.....chaperones who have no idea on what to do, and not  everyone can be a chaperone.Contestants are only doing what their coach tell them to do.

My name is Olivia Board and I am a photographer, my favourite shoot being the men's model contest for River Island.

I offer the best equipment and skills available, I am also a very sociable person.

No because I am my own person, a leader not a follower!

Pole dancing is my ultimate favourite interest!

I would cook spaghetti bolognese as its my favourite food and I can only cook that. I would wear a loose dress so I can hide my bloated stomach but pull off a sexy outfit!

Gianni Versace because the bold and current designs using colour and prints, fit and accentuate the body well.

Catwalk Professor will now grace another tv station in London/England from no tv to ITV2 and now will be gracing the"Plain Jane"tv series on MTV schedule to be seen between september and october 2012 on this program he will be showing off his skills on etiquette and how to walk the runway.His make up to this filming was done by Ms Karen Salandy and was wearing an outfit from top designer"TCA mens couture"

About the series"Plain Jane"With more than 22 million international viewers tuning in, Plain Jane returns for season two hosted once again by British fashion expert Louise Roe.

The new season will consist of 12 x 60-minute episodes (increased from eight in season 1), and will again feature “Janes” searching for the change of a lifetime – with the twist of a potential love match after the transformation.

With the help of Roe, each plain Jane receives a head-to-toe style transformation, including a new wardrobe and confidence-building exercises. Once the makeover is complete, the formerly plain Jane will surprise her unsuspecting crush with her new look and reveal her true feelings.
“I can’t wait to get started on the new series,” said Roe. “We’re traveling even further afield to exotic destinations this time around, finding gorgeous clothes and romantic date locations, to give each Jane a life-changing experience.’

3)Stop bearing so desperate just to say you have a man because all your friends have a man/husband take your take don't rush....the worse thing is when a girl looks desperate then she picks up anything......yuck

4)Don't encourage men to call you.......hey sexy....are even hey let them come correct,you must stand for standards.hello

5)Ladies if you are just out for a fling then that's cool but if you know your value dont be going to no man house on a date saying your going to look at DVD's you know what that means......

6)Ladies when your weave needs to be taken out please take it out,it's so sad to see when your taking a pen and digging into your head are even patting it.....SO NOT A LADY

7)When your dating a man never tell the man about your past bad relationships........NO NEED

8)A man can play the part very well so be wise ladies.....if he knows your desperate and wants a man he will do the part,pick you up from work,flowers use you then dump you.....learn to go with the flow when you meet someone

Mr Nathan Thompson speaks to the Fashion Police

1)Please tell us who you are and what you do for those not familiar with you?

Hi, my name is Nathan Thompson and I’m a semi pro photographer. Basically I work as an Environmental Enforcement Officer as my main source of income and work as a photographer which started out as a hobby during my evenings and weekends. Photography for me is a way I can express my creativity and provide others with the opportunity to model, become a makeup artist or shadow me as a photographer.

2)There are so many photographers out there what makes you any different from the rest?

I guess what makes me different from all the other photographers is that I have pooled together a large resource of industry talent into one big community we call London Speedlite Scene. This collective of talented people started off as an online group where photographers, models and makeup artists of varying skill levels could meetup and network together on a monthly basis at pre planned events. This group now has it’s own studio in south west London which enables us to further develop skills and train youth. We also provide talent for runways, video shoots and experienced professionals for events and functions. http://www.londonspeedlitescene.co.uk/

3)What word best describe you as a person?

I would have to say the best word that best describes me is “interchangeable”

4)Describe your fashion sense?

I would say smart and casual but that largely depends on my weight which goes up and down depending how often I can fit going to the gym into my schedule.

5)What are your best assets?

My best assets I have been told is my eyes and diverse personality

6)What makes a man a true man?

As a father to a 7 year old girl I would say a man is judged by how he provides for his family, treats his friends and his sense of responsibility.

7)Who are your 4 best friends you would ride and die for?

They would have to be the childhood friends who have been in my life since days long past. Warren, Aston, Ishmael and my other half Sue-Ellen.

8)If you was to walk the red carpet which designer would you wear and why?

I’m not much for big name brands but I do love the smart casual look so would probably be seen wearing something from Robert Emmett (Emmett London) http://www.emmettlondon.com/

9)If you was to stay at home for valentines night with your lover what would you cook and wear?

I would most certainly wear a fitted designer suit and tie as that is what floats her boat. For dinner I would cook a spicy Mexican and serve it with a sweet but chilled wine.

10)If we was a fly on your bedroom wall what would we be shock to see?

I guess the shock of seeing me naked would be enough to give anyone a fright.

11)What makes someone photogenic?

When someone is photogenic I consider them very lucky indeed. Not everyone who looks good in person looks the same on camera. I find people with very defined cheek bones and bright eyes never seems to fail.

12)What attracts you to someone?

Superficially I am attracted to so many things which are leasing to the eye but what really attracts me to someone is connecting with them mentally. There is no better feeling than when you feel understood by someone and you share the same views, philosophies and interests.

13)What are 4 things women do that makes you mad?

The four things some women do that make me mad is when they cant decide what to wear, make advances before I do, feel that looks are more important than responsibility and over emotional women.

It would have to be thongs.

15)What do you hate most when dancing with someone?

I hate when someone is not letting me take the lead and I have to keep in time with their rhythm.

16)How can someone from the other side of the world view your work and learn more about you?

I guess they would view my work as being creative, bizarre and beguiling down to the fact I work with a lot of beautiful and open minded young ladies.

17)What do you think of men who teaches women to walk?

I think it is great that a man can teach a women how to walk. There are guys who are very much in touch with their feminine side and women who sometimes need help to unlock their own femininity so it balances itself out.

18)If you had the chance to do a photo shoot with 4 people of your choice who would you love to shoot and why?

The four people I would love to shoot the most would be home portraits of a few historical and present heroes. Marcus Garvey, Martin Luther King, Bob Marley & J.F. Kennedy. These individuals were all magnificent personalities in some way and advocated for the human rights of all.

19)What music would have you running to the dance floor to shake your booty?

I have always been a lover of Old Skool U.S. and U.K. House Music. It is all about the feel good factor those tunes bring.

20)What are a few things people say about you that is not true that you would love to address here?

I guess in a lot of ways I could be misunderstood to those who do not know me as being flirtatious and unattached. For the record I am a very reflective person who is always introspecting and analysing how I treat and deal with people. I am a very friendly but respectful and considerate to everyone around me but if I am completely honest I can be unforgiving when my trust has been misplaced.

21)Are you single/married/divorce/dating?

I’ve been with my other half Sue-Ellen almost 6 years now so I would like to consider myself as married yes.

22)What are some secrets when posing for a camera?

Some posing secrets would be if you are a larger size person try not to stand directly at the camera in every pose. To get  a photo that is complementary try standing to the side that way you will appear slightly slimmer and achieve varying looks. Another tip is to think of the alphabet when posing. A good pose is one that is full of shapes. Try creating the letter S or T with your body arms and legs to create some edgy images.

23)What advice do you have for aspiring photographers out there?

The best advice I would give is to read many books on photography first. Learn how to shoot in manual settings first getting to know how to use the shutter speed, ISO, aperture settings and zoom on a lens in sync to naturally modify your images. Practice photography every chance you get in doors and out doors, close ups, landscapes and still life. Someone once told me when I first started “A picture a day”.

24)What was your reaction when you was ask for this interview by the fashion police?

When I was asked to be interviewed by the fashion police I was honoured. It has shown me that I am making a difference and it is being noticed by some very important and influential people within the industry.

25)What are your 4 fashion tips to all men out there?

Never do up both buttons on a blazer, use good fabric conditioner so your clothes always smell fresh, cultivate your own image and most importantly invest in some nice shoes.

26)If you was given 3 tickets to attend any 3 events in the uk which 3 would you attend?

To see Arsenal play at the Emirates, Drake in concert and conspiracy theorist David Icke.

Catwalk Professor tells it all

1)Please tell us who you are and what you do for those not familiar with you?

My is Francis Mathew i was born on the caribbean island of St.Maarten,after winning the Starpic Model contest there in 1996 i was granted a scholaship to study the art at the Ophelia Devore modelling school in New York where i was awarded "BEST RUNWAY"model at my class graduation.In 1999 i was 1st runner up in Mr Pan Africa usa pageant,in 2003 i won the model of the year catwalk contest in new york.i reside now in london known as the man who teaches all the girls to walk and am the 3 time award winning"BEST MODEL TRAINER"in the uk voted at the B.E.F.F.T.A awards in 2009,2010 and again in 2011

2)What words best describe you as a person?

Loving..........funny..........outspoken

3)If you was given 2 tickets to fly any where in the world where would you fly to?

I would love to go to the mother land mama AFRICA,then i would surely go to the nature island of the caribbean Dominica

4)Are you single/divorce/married?

I dont like talking about my personal life but hey if it makes you happy here you go....AM SINGLE

5)What are a few things that women do that makes you mad?

:women who try to hard to be sexy

:women who just want a man just to say they have a man

:women not being lady like

:women with bad nails/hair

6)How do you describe your image?

lol in one word i just dont care.......when you see me you cant lie that you have not seen me.My image shows how i feel about myself confident,sexy and yes intelligent......am so doing me

7)Do you have a crush on anyone?

I knew you was going to ask this.......stop minding my business....yes i do have a crush on someone big time but i don't like calling names.......only person would know all this info is my best friend who is also my sister ms maggie mathew.

8)We see you have a few body writing on your body how much do you have?

I only have 5 thats all ........no more

9)What attracts you to someone?

Well i admire someone with a nice personality and can make me laugh most of all i love someone who has great etiquette powers that drives me crazy love itttttttt.

10)Who would you say is your competition here in london in what you do?

Competition.........what's that............sorry

11)Some people say your a diva are you?

People say what ever they wish.........am no diva i just don't take crap and don't get me mad.

12)What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Many won't believe it but am not a going out person love just chilling at home with my favourite snacks

13)How those people react when you step into a room?

People react differently but one thing i know for sure the eyes are all glued on to what am wearing,some people think am crazy and am losing my mind but am not i know exactly what am doing when i start going crazy you will surely know

14)How do you keep your body looking so good?

oh my god......i love walking thats all use to go gym but have stopped....walking is doing the job

15)What is one thing people say about you that is so not true?

That am stuck up and am a real B......... but once you get to know me am so loving and caring and nothing can take that away from me.

16)Who do you love listening to when relaxing?

I must say lil kim reason she keeps it all real......anything that pretends i dislike.

17)What's your favourite food?

that will be chinese i love it with a passion but nothing beats mom and my sis food.HELLLLLLO

18)If we was a fly on your bedroom wall what would we be shock to see?

Oh my god..........lolololol...........................i will pass that question.lololololo

19)What are your best assets?

I would say my legs
