Ms Luciana Raspail contestant #1 in the Carnival Ms Mature Pageant To Be Held On April 22nd 2014 At The Festival Village On St Maarten |
1) Please tell us who you are and what you do for those not familiar with you?
Born and raised on the northern side of the island, I am a very energetic and outgoing 29 years old. I am part of the dynamic team of the Chamber of Commerce on the French Side where I handle the general secretariat. With a love for Carnival since a young child I am the General Secretary and the Assistant of the Pageant coordinator of the Carnival committee on the French Side. Also very involved in our community, I am the Secretary of the Rotaract Club Saint-Martin Nord.
2) What 3 words best describe you as a person?
Most of my friends describe me as a generous, passionate and a very cheerful person.
I would describe my fashion sense to be very eclectic and versatile, I am very open to all types of style but always try to give a classy signature.
4) What made you decide to compete in Ms Mature Carnival Pageant 2014?
With my commitment to Carnival, I have been following this pageant ever since and when I saw they brought it back to the scene 2 years ago I was very excited. I am no stranger to pageants (captured my first crown in 1998), and with the motivation of friends and family I decided to sign up and take part of the fun this year.
It is difficult to predict the results of a competition seeing that decision lies in the hands of others... But I am confident and believe that I have what it takes to walk away with the crown J .
6) Tell us some more about this pageant....Ms Mature
Ms mature is a Carnival pageant for women aged from 28 years and up. It is a public forum where they get the opportunity to showcase their talent, creativity, intelligence, voice their opinion and experience another type of fun during the Carnival season. It is the most local awaited show for the season, as everyone is excited to see what will be brought to stage.
I would definitely be a Stella Mc Cartney design, because she has a very sharp signature style to which she adds a touch of sexy “feminity” but yet very elegant.
8) If you was given 1 ticket to fly anywhere in the Caribbean where would you go and why?
It would definitely be St Lucia, I was there on a cruise last October and I just loved it. But the time I spent was just too short for me to really indulge and take advantage. The island is very tropical and has an unsurpassed beauty; it is the proof of the beautiful wonders of Mother Nature.
I would prepare : As an appetizer Toast covered with foie gras and oignon Jelly (delicious), for the main course a flank steak with its creamy mushroom sauce and roasted potatoes, and if you have room remain I would grace your tasting buds with my Flan au coco (Custard coconut tart).
10) What do you think of the Fashion Police News Blog?
I find it is a very good platform where you get all the latest fashion updates, the IN’s , the OUT’s and a lots of good tips. It allows you to be on point when stepping out ;).
Well, I am not the type to be stigmatizing professions to a particular gender, so if the men also have the competence to teach women to walk then I find that is also great (most of the time they are even better at it then us J).
12) Where do you see yourself in 8 years time?
I see myself CEO of my own family J and to the peak of my involvement in our community.
The pageant world today is at its greatest, when you look around the world. Locally, I would just want to bring forth the benefits of such an experience to all those who are hesitating or belittling on pageants today.
14) What would you say is your best assets?
My generosity
Although I have a very limited circle of close friends whom I cherish very very much, my 2 sisters /Annie, Antoinette remains my ride or dies.
16) Tell us a bit about who your chaperone is?
She is Amazing…..I have known her for a while and this Pageant brought us even closer. She holds several pageant titles and has been the chaperones of several girls on the island. I salute her for all the great work she has been put in so far with me and the motivational drive she gives me at every practice.
(Laughs) My friends call me Miss Can’t Hear A Song, as I would be moving to any type of music, anywhere, anytime….I just love music.
Life experience - The girl is still out there setting her goals, looking for new challenges and looking for her path while the woman is fully complete with her life experience and is already at her stage of accomplishments.
You can expect the very best of me that night, I will be bringing it. So be on the lookout for your contestant #1 on Tuesday April 22nd 2014 in the Festival Village.
I enjoy spending quality time with my loved ones and exploring this beautiful island of ours as my busy schedule do not allow me to socialize much….so when I do get the chance, I grasp it.
21) If the Fashion Police was to be a fly on your bedroom wall what would they be shocked to see?
They would be shocked to see that I have little Sponge bob and Minions items, their so cuteJ.
I would advise them to get fully prepared and not to overlook all the preparation leading up to the show, because it requires a very important personal input. Go out do your best and most of all, have fun!
I am inviting you all to visit our beautiful island Sunshine City Sometime and if you can during the Carnival season, where you will be able to experience the biggest Cultural event on the island.
