SCDF President Mr Stuart A Johnson the perfect role model

1)For those that don't know you are never heard about you as we are interviewing you direct from london tell us briefly about yourself

Stuart Andrew Johnson was born on June 24th, 1984, in the St. Rose Hospital located on Front Street, St. Maarten. In my younger days, I was a member of the Teen Times Youth Newspaper, Volunteer Club of the School, St. Maarten Green Voice Foundation, and Democratic Party Youth Wing of which I became president.

I’m a teacher by profession, since 2008 when I completed my Bachelors of Education degree from the University of St. Martin (USM), making me the first male to graduate in the education field from USM. While attending USM, I was the longest serving and first official Student Government Association President.

Besides being the youngest president of the St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF), I’m a toastmaster and the Vice-Chairman of the Post Office board of St. Maarten. Lastly, I’m the Founder and President of the community and entertainment “Youth Link Foundation.”

2)What 3 words best describe you?

Dedicated, Loyal and sincere!

3)What's your role like being president of the carnival committee and how long have you been part of the committee before becoming president?
Being the President of the SCDF, you have to supervise and keep up to date with all the operations of the foundation. The foundation is responsible for many shows and our various parades, while this is being organized the President also has the responsibility of the board, the membership, our sponsors, the media and the public, at large.

I’ve been apart of the SCDF, for over thirteen years, since I was 14 years old by being the first “youth wing” member under the Presidency of Erno Labega, who now serves as the treasurer of the foundation under my presidency.

4)What are you doing differently now that was never done?

The board of the SCDF continues to ensure that the preparation of carnival is done much earlier than previous years. Already, the full schedule has been released as well as our slogan for carnival 2012. Done differently compared to previous years is our school tour and marketing vision, among others.

5)When your away from all the hassle what do you enjoy doing any hobbies?

I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family and friends, and relaxing at the beach.

6)Many would like to know if your single are in a relationship and if you are how to you make time for you partner?

I’m single….But when I find the right person….. its about finding the right balance with my work schedule and my personal life commitments. At times, it doesn’t work out perfectly right but understanding is key to any healthy relationship.
7) How do you describe your fashion sense?

I’m no fashion expert, I leave that to the professionals. But my fashion sense surely keeps me in line with everyone else.

8) Registration for the carnival competitions are you happy so far with the responds your getting?

The registration progress is still ongoing, but I elated with the response received so far. It goes to show that people are embracing our cultural celebrations and the work of this SCDF board. Hard work pays off and it shows. Lookout for more initiatives on our registration process, soon.

9) What is the carnival committee doing to make carnival safer and better for the safety of everyone?

I hold firm to a “no-nonsense policy” in following safety regulations and ensuring that the public and Carnival stakeholders abide by the rules of the law. Carnival is a fun-filled, cultural event that is safeguarded by close cooperation of law enforcement, medical services and the SCDF.

We have always put great emphasis on safety and security. From the moment you enter Carnival Village through our checkpoints to our road events, the presence of our security personnel, the police and ambulance personnel is always very visible. Nothing changes this year, we remain adamant about the safety of the public.
Carnival Village will again be tightly secured for Carnival 2012. Sheriff Security will have its usual large contingent of officers in the Village support by the latest in security technology. The Police Department will also have its regular sub-station in the Village to operate from, while Ambulance Department personnel will be present every night and supported by counterparts from Aruba.

The jump-ups and parades will also see heavy Sheriff Security and police presence. We have a basic message for any potential trouble makers for Carnival 2012: Stay home. We can say that in a more ‘colorful’ way but we think the message is clear.

10)We know your doing your best as president but those it comes to a point sometimes that you fell totally presured.?

No pressure, I love working for the people of St. Maarten and the carnival spirit is deep within me from birth. Guess, that’s why I’m being called the “Soca Prime Minister” lately
11)Since its the fashion police blog what 2 colgnes you cant live without?and why?

My two favorite colognes are: Mont Blanc, and Dolce & Gabbana…..I’ve heard once I wear it…I’m irresistible.

3)If you was given the chance to dance in 2 music videos of your choice for 2 famous persons who would it be and why?

Honestly I would love to dance or act in any music video from any person...because being famous is NOT so important for me... it is all how YOU make the people watching you feel. It will be an honor to dance on stage with lots of drama with Diana Ross, Tina Turner and Cher, though!!

ANAIS DANCE FUSION is not only a dance group, but also a complete entertainment group; we cater to lots of different events; we have strippers, waiters, dancers, singers, makeup artists and much more. I work with a lot of professionals and know exactly who to contact for any show.
My dancers are talented and gifted in many ways.
There is NOT one choreographer, we all putting steps and style together..that is what makes us soooo UNIQUE!!!
When I want something fast, I always ask other professional dancers for help: I love working with others.

My assistant is Brandon Joseph.
The other dancers are; Shanay Andrews, Mickeba Boyea, Janelle Hermance, Ro-Ann Munoz, Marie Claxton, Nicco Burgos and Curran Pierre. Also many dancers who are on vacation do participate with me in some functions. Like Leon Benjamin and Ernesto Wyatt will also soon perform with us when time permits of course.

RAJIV SINGER/SONGWRITER TAKING MUSIC TO THE NEXT LEVEL

1)For those that don't know you please tell us briefly who you are and what you do?

My name is Rajiv and I am a singer/songwriter from Essex.

2)If you had the chance to sing along anyone who would it be an why?

I would love to do a duet with Beyonce. Her command on the stage, along with her phenomenal vocals would be an experience that I'd imagine I would never forget

3)What 3 best words describe your music?

Sexy, contemporary, pop!

4)Do you write your own song?if yes what inspires you

Yes I do write my own songs, but I also collaborate with other writers when I can. Inspiration can come from anything like personal experiences to just the general feeling you get from hearing the beat being produced in the studio.

5)What are a few things you don't like about the music industry?

Mainly how repetitive it can be at times. When a song reaches number one, you feel the need to replicate something along the lines of the same style of that track to help with your recognition on the music scene. I'm saying that from an unsigned artists' view though. I think when you're recognised, you have the power to change the game. I also dislike how money talks in the industry, as I feel a lot of real music and artists are left unheard because they don't have the large budgets like the major labels provide.

6)For many girls reading this do you have a girl friend?

I am seeing someone at the moment, but I like to keep my private life separate from my music.

7)How would you describe your fashion sense?

Well I like too keep up with fashion trends, but I also like to try and make sure I look unique too. I'm a fan of the older All Saint fashion (the more rock-esq) style, but then casually I like street fashion. I do feel that I can adapt my look to the suited occasion.

8(How do you keep yourself busy when not writing are singing?

I'll usually hang out with friends and I also hit the gym about 4/5 times a week. I am also an Formula 1 fan so when its on, I try and watch the races.

9)How can anyone view/listen to your music?

You can buy my songs on iTunes, but you can also check out my music and video on the following social networking sites:

10)where do you see yourself within 7 years as a singer?

I hope that in seven years times, I am around four albums into my career and touring successfully, globally, with the intention of collaborating with other artists.

11)What makes you different from the many other singers we hear sing?

With the focus and huge debate on the use of auto-tune in the industry at the moment, I am focusing on proving to people and fans that I can sing live too. I am working on lots of studio material, but I am also performing in and around the London scene with my guitarist. So keep posted on my social networking links to find out where I am performing next!

12)Any last words to our readers you would like to share?

I'd just like to say thank you to everyone who has supported me so far; my friends, family, and fans on youtube, facebook, twitter etc. Big thank you to my manager, Jo Wiskin and to my other manager and producer, David Brant of Vybrant music. I look forward to what the future holds and would love the readers of this blog to get in touch online. And last, but by no means least, thank you to the Catwalk Professor for this interview.

1)Tell us little about yourself for those that are not familiar with you?

I go by the name of " Miss Gee"..I have been involved in the entertainment industry for over 10 years.

2)Whats your role as a fashion police news reporter?

As a member of the Fashion Police, I am responsible for arresting all individuals who stand out in the crowd..either fashion disasters or those who have nailed their fashion sense on the head & are simply looking 100% swaggalicious!!

3)What advice would you have for anyone intrested in joining you as a reporter?

Brush up on your fashion sense, remembering that everyone has their own individuality. If a person has an outfit on that you wouldn't necessarily wear yourself, it doesn't mean they don't know how to dress!! Fashion can be inspired through many things, so it's important to keep an open mind!

4) What do you do in your spare time when your not reporting are arresting?

I'm busy being a Mum to my two beautiful Sons. I also act, sing, model & work out in the gym..I love practicing yoga, pilates & body balance as I find it releases tension & focuses your mind, giving you an incredible workout too!!

*Don't be scared to experiment with fashion..add your own personal touches to make it individual to you*

* Stand out..be a trend setter, don't always follow fashion if it doesn't inspire you..stay true to yourself*

8) We know you work alongside the Catwalk Professor who is very strict....what are some of his rules as a reporter when at work?

Oh yes he is one tough cookie to crumble!! BUT, saying that we are there to interact with members of the public & have fun, making them feel comfortable about being interviewed by Mr Fierce!! At the same time we have to remain professional, as this is our job! We have a general interest in how people are influenced & inspired by fashion & are there to gain input from everyday people from all walks of life.

9) Whats one item you just cant leave home without?

I'm a bit of an au-naturel lady at heart so it has to be good old fashioned vaseline..nothing worse than dry lips!!!

10)When at work what are a few things that makes a man stand out in your eyes that you would avoid arresting him?

I am generally quite an intuitive person, so I can usually work out whether a guy would be the right candidate to arrest through their body-language or how they'd respond to me!! But saying that, i'm a persuasive individual so arrests WILL be made!!

11) Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
I hope to own a few more properties & have a job within television..such as presenting or hosting!!
